Custom Event Editor: FAQ and Tips.

Creating a story and put it in a game sounds fun, but if you try it in the first time you may find it confusing and do not know how to start or what you should do in a certain situation. 

Here I try to list out the problems you may face and some advices.

  

1. Extra tools for creating event.

You do not need any extra software to create an event. However a good text editor such as Notepad++ may help when you are capturing the in-game data for the editor.

2. How should I start to create an event?

Remember this: Studio Mode is your friend. 

You can open the game, turn on all the logging option that Custom Event Loader provides. Then go to the studio mode, set up a scene that your event will look like. Captures all the corresponding in-game data and paste it in the editor.

This way you can make the scene of your event look exactly the same as what you have placed in the studio mode. 

 

3. How do I copy the text from a console window?

Click and highlight the text you want to copy, then right click and the text will be copied to the clipboard.

Note that you can also get the value from "BepinEx\LogOutput.log".

4. My game freezes when I am trying to copy the in-game data. What should I do?

The UI update of the main game will be blocked if you are highlighting text in the console window. Check the console window to see and deselect anything there should fix the problem.

 

5. The event does not show anything and is always in black screen. 

At the beginning of the event it is always in fade out status. You need to add a fade in step to show your scene. 

 

6. There is error in the middle of my event, but I do not know where the problem is.

If you have turned on the Developer mode, the Loader will write a log when it processes a step. You can check in the console window or log file to see where it stucks.
